Three sleeps til the big day! I hope this email finds you leaning in to the JOY of the season and starting to slow down! As I am sitting down to write this message, that is my hope for myself as well ;)
During this time, I wanted to stop and take a few minutes to share more about this journey for me and how I arrived in this space of my life. I know we often look at the little boxes via social media and assume so much about one another’s lives. I can assure you, this season I am currently in, and this family didn’t just fall into place for me. It’s a story full of twists and turns that life throws all of our ways.
I moved to Colorado from Arizona in 2007 under the premise that I was going to end up with a guy my grandma set me up with. We fell hard and fast and I was ready to get out of AZ. I landed a teaching job and moved in June never to hear from him again. I still don’t know what happened to this day, but I do know that the future held something greater. With no friends and two months before school started, I had little to do. My brother convinced me to set up an online dating profile, very uncool at that time mind you, but I went ahead and did it anyway.…on something called Yahoo personals which no longer even exists! A week or so later a friend of mine came up to visit and started looking at the available suitors. She actually picked out my husband right out of the gates! After several horrific dates, I swore I’d go on one final date with him. Well, the rest is history! We just celebrated our 10 year anniversary and look forward to many milestones ahead.
Amidst our journey together, we struggled to get pregnant, and after several rounds of IUIs we did a round of IVF that resulted in these beautiful twin boys. If you’ve experienced any of these types of treatments, or know someone who has, it does a whammy on your body. I knew after the first year of their life, my body needed an overhaul. I began a wellness journey that completely changed my life and my confidence began to make a comeback. And the more I dug into why that was, I discovered that wellness was only one piece of the pie and thus the Confidence Collective was born!
Life sure is a wild ride and it can be hard to feel like you can keep all those balls in the air and still take care of yourself. I hope these weekly messages help and give you ideas to hopefully help simplify your day to day and give you boosts of confidence along the way.
Happiest of Holidays to all of you and a HUGE thank you for being a part of this journey with me!
